Worms on a plane

4 Nov

I had a question come in the other day. Can you fly with red worms in your carry on baggage? Having a couple of flights this week and wanting to know myself, I checked with TSA and Southwest yesterday. This morning I had no trouble bringing a plastic container of red worms through airport security.

did you have to declare them? Did you go into another country. I am bring earthworms to Haiti but want to make sure I am doing it legally. Any help would be appreciated.

My travel was within the U.S. I’m not sure, but I would assume you would have to declare them?

You CANNOT transport worms into most countries, especially not into the USA without a CITES certificate.
